New petite doll!
Barbies now come in a range of shapes, the curvy (which I love) but also petite and tall. Here, we compare Béla’s stature to that of Brandy, a more vintage doll.
Colour palettes!
These dresses are from Kenneth D King’s book Doll Couture, published in December 2023. It has completely revolutionised my approach to sewing dolls’ clothes. Lovely as they are, only Brandy looks good in her dress, as she can wear Teal. Béla is in her starter dress, quite the wrong colour for her, and the soft autumn colouring of Tess doesn’t go with that yellow!
New look for Brandy!
She has new lipstick! The red brings out her features and makes her look great! The dress made for Béla fits her well, and the colours are perfect for her style and colouring. The necklace is my first attempt, as is the belt. Both need more practice.
